involved with the restoration efforts. “Everything is cosmetic, with the exception of a few isolated spots.”
The Old Main has personal mean- ing for Reynolds. Her grandfather and both of her parents worked on the campus, and she remembers visiting as a girl. She has no doubt that the build- ing is worth saving.
Reynolds hopes that if the commu- nity learns more about the building, a lot of other people will think it’s worth saving, too. Historical society mem- bers envision a museum that is inclu- sive of the region’s many different his- torical legacies, because they believe the Old Main belongs to the people, even if the people don’t know it yet.
