LEARN TO PLAY HOCKEY AGES 5 & UP
Learn to Play Hockey is open to all kids ages 5 and older that have successfully completed the  rst two badge levels of Learn to Skate. The Hockey curriculum through Learn to Play Hockey is designed to teach the fundamentals of hockey skating. Skaters will learn how to be more pro cient and agile on the ice. Proper skating techniques for the game of hockey are the primary focus. The stick and puck will be introduced in Learn to Play Hockey.
8U MITE HOUSE LEAGUE This program will give kids an opportunity to learn the game and participate in youth hockey without having to travel for games. Practices will begin in early October and run through the end of February. During the  rst two months of practices, 4 house teams will be formed. Games will begin the  rst week of December and be played through the end of February.
On Tuesday evenings, all 8U kids will have a skill session with our mite coaches. This practice will be skill and station based. On Thursday’s (beginning in December), cross ice games will be played. All kids will receive equal playing time.
8U SELECT MITE TRAVEL TEAM Also, we will offer a select travel team for those kids/families committed to traveling and playing in high level, full/cross ice tournaments. This team is open to only 7 and 8 year old players. (birth year 2008 and 2009).
These kids will still participate in the house league, but will occasionally have extra practices on weekends and sometimes practice as a separate team on Tuesday nights. Travel will be approximately one weekend per month and will require two night hotel stays.
SQUIRTS AGES 9-10 Competitive hockey where the kids advance their skating and stick handling techniques in game simulating hockey drills. The
teams practice 2-3 times a week and play in the East Kootenai League.
PEEWEE AGES 11-12 The teams practice 2-3 times a week and play in the East Kootanai League and/or the Montana Amateur Hockey Association league.
BANTAM AGES 13-14 This level starts playing contact hockey. They practice 2-3 times a week and play in the Montana Amateur Hockey Association league and/ or East Kootenai League.
HIGH SCHOOL AGES 15-18 The High School team also plays contact hockey. They practice 2-3 times a week and play in the Montana Amateur Hockey Association league.
GIRLS U14 AGES 14 AND UNDER Girls of all abilities are welcome. Currently program is a fusion program with Flathead Valley Hockey Association. Girls practice 2-3 times per week and compete in MAHA.
GIRLS U19 AGES 19 AND UNDER Girls of all abilities are welcome. Currently program is a fusion program with Flathead Valley Hockey Association. Girls practice 2-3 times per week and compete in MAHA.
