Bigfork’s Community Page

By Beacon Staff

A burned out house overlooking Flathead Lake is where I was born. Fortunately, we were out of there long before the fire, and since then I’ve hiked, skied, boated and lived all over Western Montana, the country, and the world. Now I’m back in my hometown of Bigfork, and writing like crazy.

I graduated from the University of Montana’s School of Journalism with a minor in History. History is a passion my dad instilled in me when I used to correct his historical facts. While exploring “my own backyard,” I’ve gotten to learn from books and people the story of the Flathead, and I keep learning more. I worked as the Bureau Chief for Kalispell’s KAJ/TV, and my byline has appeared in a few regional magazines.

But this page will not be about me. It’s an excellent opportunity to highlight stories in the news directly affecting Bigfork, and giving the community a chance to comment, question, or even point out overlooked issues.

We live in a community of varied passions and histories, but all with shared interest in this little spot of the world. I look forward to providing the platform for discussion and feedback.
