CFHS Senior band members say goodbye

By Beacon Staff

Last night, graduation week wound down to Saturday’s finale with one of the last steps – the CFHS Senior Band concert. Seniors in the Columbians Jazz Band, Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble select the music they want their band to play, and in some case, they get to be the band’s guest director for a piece of music. Tears and memories were flowing in the after-concert reception after another of Director Karen Ulmer’s strong classes of seniors performed in the CFHS Little Theater for the last time.

One surprise for the audience, Ulmer revealed that the Little Theater is getting a refurb job this summer, with a new sound system, lighting and other touches to bring it up to date. Clearly appreciative of the upcoming improvements, Ulmer quipped “Next year, you’ll actually be able to see your kids.”
