WHITEFISH (AP) – A 55-year-old Whitefish man died Tuesday morning at a Kalispell hospital from injuries he suffered in a traffic crash south of here.
The wreck happened shortly before 11 p.m. Wednesday in a construction zone near Happy Valley, the Montana Highway Patrol said.
The man was southbound on Highway 93 when he plowed into some construction cones and crossed the northbound lane, the patrol said.
Authorities said the man wasn’t wearing a seat belt. His name was not released.
The cause of the crash remained under investigation.
The death raised the state highway fatality toll to 126, compared with 129 on July 3, 2006.
