Another Flathead Storm, With Less Wind

By Beacon Staff

For the second time in less than a week, a violent storm dropped rain, hail and booming thunder on much of the Flathead Valley Monday night, but this time around the wind was less severe.

Burning branches were reported on a power line on Foys Lake Road, and Bigfork, Ferndale and Somers customers lost power for a short while. Power crews also located a downed pole near Timberdoodle Lane in Whitefish. Still, crews bracing for the worst were instead greeted with much milder wind than in last week’s storm, according to the Flathead Electric Cooperative.

Most customers who lost power had it restored by early Tuesday morning, but Co-op crews were still working on lines. If your power is still out, call 751-4449.
