Police Blotter: Unwanted Guests

The Kalispell Police and Flathead County Sheriff’s reports for Tuesday included the following:

9:43 a.m. Squatters in sleeping bags and a homemade tent were given the boot out of Conrad Cemetery.

10:38 a.m. A woman called in to report a black bear in her backyard. The woman was informed the “bear” was actually a steer.

3:04 p.m. Three homeless goats wandered onto a woman’s property and would not leave. They were fairly pleasant at first but then began to eat all of the resident’s stuff. At wits end, the woman called authorities to help her evict the unwanted guests.

3:56 p.m. A cell phone was stolen in Columbia Falls.

5:47 p.m. A small fire started below Blacktail Mountain near Patrick Creek. It was put out within hours.

7:08 p.m. Suspicious items were found by the river in Hungry Horse.

7:27 p.m. A verbal dispute erupted when a paraglider landed on a man’s farm. The farmer was upset and called the Sheriff’s Department.

7:50 p.m. A black bear was spotted eating out of a beehive on Columbia Falls Stage.

10:54 p.m. A rental car was reported stolen when it wasn’t returned to the Alamo Car Rental at Glacier International Airport.

The departments responded to 167 calls for service.
