Police Blotter: Not a Good Spot to Rest

The Kalispell Police and Flathead County Sheriff’s reports for Thursday and Friday morning included the following:

5:45 a.m. A window was broken at the Bigfork Veterans Center. Nothing was reported missing.

7:52 a.m. A bear and her cub were spotted on Lost Coon Trail near Whitefish.

10:38 p.m. A delinquent was reported rummaging through multiple mailboxes on Bernard Road.

2:14 p.m. A stranded motorist in the middle of the road on Idaho needed assistance pushing the car out of traffic.

4:03 p.m. The Sheriff’s Department was alerted when a person was seen breaking into cars and stealing parts at the White Birch Motel.

4:12 p.m. A concerned mother alerted the Sheriff’s Department when she was told about a fight her son was involved in at the Kila elementary school.

5:40 p.m. An old smoking tractor was mistaken for a fire.

6:42 p.m. A man was lying in the road at the intersection of Shady Lane and U.S. Highway 35. When deputies arrived he got up and walked away. The incident occurred near the Rainbow Bar.

8:38 p.m. An unwanted customer refused to leave a store and cussed out an employee. Authorities were called, but he left before they arrived.

9:27 p.m. An ex-boyfriend was harassing his ex-girlfriend.

10:37 p.m. A boy broke some dishes in his parent’s house then ran away.

2:53 a.m. A McDonald’s employee called the Sheriff’s Department after receiving numerous prank orders.

4:23 a.m. A truck was reported on fire “near some trees.”

The departments responded to 162 calls for service.
