Agenda: Kalispell Bypass to be Discussed

FLATHEAD COUNTY
Kalispell City Council and Flathead County Commission will be meeting with Montana Department of Transportation Director Jim Lynch to discuss the Kalispell bypass at noon today. The public is welcome for the meeting at the MDT Construction Conference Room at 85 5th Avenue EN, south of Wendy’s restaurant off U.S. Highway 2. The Beacon will report on the meeting later today.

KALISPELL
Kalispell City Council is meeting tonight at 7 p.m. in City Hall. It will vote on authorizing civil penalties for violations at the city airport. Also on the agenda is an ordinance that would allow future salary schedules for city employees to be adopted by resolution. The city will also consider purchase of a half-acre of property at the south end of the airport that would allow two parcels of land needed for the U.S. 93 bypass to be connected. Council also decides whether to authorize the refinancing of bonds to fund the remodel of the new City Hall/Wells Fargo building.

WHITEFISH
The Whitefish City Council will vote on the adoption of its budget with 14 resolutions for the fiscal year 2007-2008 at Monday night’s 7 p.m. meeting.

The council will also discuss:

-Request for a preliminary plat for Baker Commons
-Recommendation to award a Cow Creek Sewer Project construction contract
-Recommendation to support a proposed analysis of future building heights
-Modifying the special events permitting process
-Recommendation to consider a petition to Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks to create a non-motorized section on the Whitefish River
-Interviews of council applicants and appointment to fill council vacancy
-Discussion on Clip Joint barber pole
