Easel’s with construction plans popped up all over town; at the post office, community meetings, and school meetings. They illustrated the school board’s request for a $5.5 million bond at Bigfork Elementary and $11.1 million for Bigfork High. On October 9th, the community’s votes were counted. The Elementary Bond passed by 81 votes, The High School Bond Failed by 84 votes.
The $5.5 million Elementary bond will include a clearly defined front entrance, additional classrooms, and updated science labs. Currently the 6th graders are in temporary classrooms in trailers on the edge of the playground. The new addition would bring them back into the school.
