HAVRE (AP) — Montana Tech upset No. 14 Montana State-Northern 17-7 Saturday in a game that featured 12 turnovers.
Matt Komac passed for 72 yards, including the game-winning 7-yard touchdown pass to Alex Grevas with 3:55 left in the third quarter, to spark Tech (4-3, 3-3 Frontier). Grevas’ touchdown gave Tech a 10-7.
Corey Warner rushed for 97 yards and capped the scoring with a 13-yard TD run with 4:10 left in the game.
Sean Kelly kicked a field goal midway through the first quarter to give Tech an early 3-0 lead.
Northern (4-3, 3-3) took the lead on a 40-yard TD pass from Garren Hammons to Coda Tchida with 3:47 left in the first quarter. Hammons passed for 86 yards, but was intercepted twice.
Jeff Braun had three of Tech’s five interceptions. Northern intercepted Komac three times and both teams lost two fumbles.
