HELENA (AP) – Officials have identified the victims of two recent highway crashes in western Montana.
Williard A. Stockwell, 84, of Kalispell, died early Monday of injuries he suffered in a crash on Sunday afternoon.
The patrol said Stockwell was stopped at a stop sign, but pulled out into an intersection into the path of another car and was broad-sided. Trooper Bob Hensley said it appeared Stockwell didn’t see the approaching car.
The 20-year-old driving the other car suffered minor injuries.
Brett M. Parton, 45, of Stevensville, died Monday morning when he lost control of his pickup while going around a curve on Secondary 269 near Victor.
The Montana Highway Patrol said his truck crashed through two fences and came to rest in a field.
