The Kalispell Police and Flathead County Sheriff’s reports for Wednesday included the following:
9:48 a.m. A woman veered off the highway in Columbia Falls and bailed out of her SUV when her break peddle jammed. Her vehicle plowed through a ditch, barbed-wire fence and slammed into a barn at about 50 to 60 mph. The SUV and the barn caught on fire but both were successfully put out by responding fire departments.
2:47 p.m. The attentive principle at a school out on Middle Road in Kalispell found some drug paraphernalia and turned it in to the Sheriff’s Department.
2:52 p.m. The animal warden set up a trap for a dirty coyote on Beaver Lake Road but caught a skunk instead.
3:15 p.m. A man called in to report that his difficult ex-wife told him she would kill him if he came by to see his young daughter.
4:19 p.m. The animal warden assisted a cat owner in dislodging the creature from the trailer it was wedged under.
8:10 p.m. One of the dumpsters in Columbia Falls was on fire.
9:15 p.m. A drunken man and his drunken girlfriend were following each other home separately from a bar when the man threw a knife out his window at his girlfriend’s car. They both pulled over and began fighting on the side of the road. They fled the scene before deputies arrived.
10:12 p.m. A man called in to report that his girlfriend tried to run him over with her car.
4:30 a.m. Three juveniles, one wearing a black ski mask, attempted to steal from a car in Hungry Horse. The car owner chased them but was unsuccessful in taking them down.
4:39 a.m. A suspicious male wearing a silver and blue costume was seen hitchhiking.
The Sheriff’s Department responded to 156 calls for service.
