DILLON (AP) – John Barnett passed for 121 yards and two touchdowns and Marcus Miller kicked three field goals Saturday to lead Carroll College to a 30-16 victory over Montana-Western.
No. 2 Carroll (10-0, 9-0 Frontier) led 30-0 at the end of the third quarter before Western (4-6, 4-5) scored on the Saints’ backups.
Miller kicked a 40-yard field goal in the second quarter, followed by a 27-yard TD pass from Barnett to Dan Lovin and a 1-yard TD run by John Camino to take a 17-0 halftime lead.
Carroll added an 18-yard TD pass from Barnett to Gabe Le and two field goals by Miller to take a 30-0 lead with 38 seconds left in the third quarter.
Western scored first on a safety on a bad snap. The Bulldogs added an 18-yard TD run by Kahai Sevilla with 1:48 remaining and, after recovering an onside kick, added another touchdown on a 4-yard pass from Henry Ka’amalu to Jerry Schmitz with one second remaining.
Western has lost four consecutive games.
