Police Blotter: Angry Boy, Brash Dealer

By Beacon Staff

The Kalispell Police and Flathead County Sheriff’s reports for Sunday included the following:

6:32 a.m. A guy went into a gas station off U.S. Highway 2 and asked the clerk how to open the safe and if he wanted to buy drugs from him. Deputies have collected surveillance tapes and will attempt to identify the suspicious man.

10:24 a.m. A thief stole a purse out of a shopping cart at a supermarket in Evergreen.

12 p.m. People were shooting at a 500-gallon fuel tank out on the North Fork.

4:26 p.m. A young boy was bit in the face by a ferocious dog that looked like a black lab. The dog is now in custody.

5:49 p.m. Deputies counseled an 11-year-old Bigfork boy because he wouldn’t do his chores and had been kicking at his Mother. He also has a history of attacking his 12-year-old sister. He claimed that he has been “very angry” lately.

7:06 p.m. There was a chimney fire in a tinder barn on Holt Stage in Kalispell. The barn owner was advised not to use his stove in his barn until it is up to code.

8:01 p.m. Deputies strongly encouraged some trigger-happy kids to quit shooting pellet guns at their neighbor’s house.

The departments responded to 100 calls for service.
