MOSCOW (AP) – Rebecca Mercer scored 21 points, including five 3-pointers, to help Montana State to a 77-49 win against Idaho on Friday night.
Krislyn Wallace had 12 points and Sarah Strand added 10 for the Bobcats (1-0).
Montana State broke a 27-27 tie with 5:46 remaining in the first half, going on an 11-2 run. The Bobcats led 38-29 at the half and hit 49 percent of their field goals.
MSU turned the ball over only 16 times compared to 26 times by Idaho.
Katie Madison had 13 points and eight rebounds for the Vandals, who shot 34 percent from the field.
