Fast Talking at Polson

At the Polson High School Invitational Speech, Debate, and Drama Meet this past weekend, Whitefish swept the floor into second place for “A” schools with 30 points. Columbia Falls followed with 44 points.

Adam Harris and Joe Mazur took second place in Policy Debate. “It has been a great experience,” the pair said, “and so early in the season, we have already proven ourselves against varsity competitors.”

Extemporaneous speaker Julia Williamson took sixth place. Tyler Schiff won fourth place in Memorized Public Address with his Jimmy Valvona Espy Awards Speech. Stephanie Christensen took sixth place in Memorized Public Address. Trevor Bennett placed seventh place in Impromptu speaking.

Overall, the WHS Speech and Debate Team is off to a great season and preparing themselves for the Flathead Invitational Meet next weekend.
