Denver Beats Lady Cats

DENVER (AP) – Brooke Meyer and Andie Mason each scored 12 points, all on 3-pointers, to help Denver to an 80-68 victory against Montana State on Saturday.

Sara Benham and Jenna Cole added 10 points apiece for the Pioneers (1-2).

Montana State took a 15-5 lead early in the first half, but Denver rallied with a 16-2 run. The Pioneers led 42-33 at the break and built their biggest lead at 55-38 with 13:33 remaining.

The Bobcats (2-2) pulled within five on a 12-0 run over the next three minutes, but a pair of Denver 3-pointers put the game back out of reach.

Rebecca Mercer and Krislyn Wallace led the Bobcats with 19 points each. Mercer made all seven of her free throw attempts. Sarah Strand added 14 points and was 5-of-7 from the free throw line.
