BOZEMAN (AP) – Carlos Taylor scored 30 points to help Montana State to a 95-89 win over Pepperdine in the championship game of the GranTree Inn Classic tournament Saturday night.
Mecklen Davis added 17 points, including nine free throws, and Branden Johnson came off the bench to add 13 points.
The Bobcats (4-3) trailed 45-35 at the break, but rallied in the second half with 58 percent shooting. They hit only 33 percent of their field goals in the first half.
Rico Tucker led the Waves (4-5) with 24 points, 11 from the free throw line. Tyrone Shelley added 20 points, while Malcolm Thomas and Mychel Thompson scored 14 points apiece.
