Police Blotter: Stolen Santa, Hot Tub Borrowing

By Beacon Staff

The Kalispell Police and Flathead County Sheriff’s reports for Sunday and Monday included the following:

9:40 a.m. A dog-seller called the Sheriff’s Department after he had sold his dog to a man who he now assumed was beating it.

10:43 a.m. An 8-foot inflatable Santa was swiped out of the back of a man’s truck in Kalispell.

12:30 p.m. A woman in a red Cadillac drove up to a bank in Evergreen and screamed “Thank you!” at customers then drove away.

12:59 p.m. A man left his infant in a running car while he shopped in a Kalispell store. A woman confronted him about the inappropriate behavior. He told her to mind her own business. She took his license plate number down. She wrote down the wrong number so deputies were unable to find the man.

1:18 p.m. A Somers resident called in because they saw some dogs chasing cows and deer.

2:17 p.m. Someone called in because they saw a man in a black trench coat with a rifle strapped to his back walking into Martin City.

6:58 p.m. A Kalispell resident called in when they came home to find their door open and evidence of someone who had been enjoying their hot tub.

8:13 p.m. A woman called in from Columbia Falls to say that she heard a vehicle smash into her mailbox. She is also suspicious that the same vehicle was attempting to hit her neighbor’s mailbox as well.

The departments responded to 123 calls for service.
