Huckabee Scheduled to Speak at Billings Fundraiser

By Beacon Staff

BILLINGS (AP) – Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, who is seeking the Republican nomination for president, is scheduled to speak here in April.

Steve Daines, Huckabee’s Montana campaign chairman, said Huckabee has agreed to speak at a banquet for the Big Sky Youth Education Foundation, which raises money for two Christian schools in Billings.

Banquet committee member Connie Glass said the former Southern Baptist preacher is scheduled to speak about education, his personal faith, and his experience as the former governor of Arkansas.

The dinner is scheduled for April 29 at the Holiday Inn Grand. Ten people can sit at a table for $500. Tickets go on sale next Tuesday.

Former banquet speakers include Arizona quarterback Kurt Warner and conservative political commentator Oliver North.

State Republican officials say they just learned of Huckabee’s visit and don’t have any political events planned so far.
