By Beacon Staff

BILLINGS (AP) – Another Billings Republican announced Wednesday that he is running for the U.S. Senate seat held by Sen. Max Baucus.

Engineer Kirk Bushman spoke Wednesday morning at a Carbon County Republican Women’s luncheon in Rockvale.

The 41-year-old Bushman says he plans to launch an announcement tour on Jan. 16 in Billings. From there, he’ll travel to Bozeman and Kalispell. The following Thursday, he’ll continue his tour in Missoula, before giving a speech to the Missoula Pachyderm club that Friday.

Bushman describes himself as a “Tom Coburn Republican,” referring to the Republican Oklahoma senator known for his opposition to pork barrel and deficit spending.
