By Christie Burns

The Kalispell Police and Flathead County Sheriff’s reports for Thursday included the following:

6:17 a.m. A man on Columbia Falls Stage Road called the Sheriff’s Department to inform them that he had captured a 12-year-old runaway who was trying to steal his car. Deputies picked him up and returned him to his family.

3:43 p.m. A snowmobile was stolen near the back side of Big Mountain.

3:56 p.m. The unwelcome boyfriend of a Marion resident’s stepdaughter showed up at her house intoxicated. He was urged to leave, but refused. He eventually left and was pulled over for trespassing and driving under the influence of alcohol.

5:55 p.m. A man and his ex-wife got into a fight in Bigfork. Everything was settled and the two went their separate ways.

7:39 p.m. A chimney fire on Sleepy Hollow Drive was put out in about 40 minutes by the Evergreen Fire Department.

7:39 p.m. A man in Whitefish called in because he has been receiving nasty phone calls from a man he doesn’t know.

10:56 p.m. A man called in because his drunken ex-lover was outside pounding on his door. Deputies counseled both and the night ended peaceably.

11:15 p.m. The Sheriff’s Department received a call from a young man in Missoula explaining that he had just received a text from a friend in Evergreen who was threatening to harm himself. Deputies checked on the man and found he was to be OK.

2:30 a.m. Someone called in from Rose Crossing in Kalispell because they saw a green Subaru stopping at all the mailboxes in the neighborhood. The driver was not stealing mail but delivering newspapers.

The departments responded to 115 calls for service.
