Clinton, Possibly Obama, to Attend Butte Dinner

By Beacon Staff

HELENA – Hillary Clinton, and likely Barack Obama, will campaign in Montana next month at an annual dinner held by the state Democratic Party.

State Democrats said they would put 2,400 more tickets for the April 5 dinner up for sale on Monday morning.

The first batch of tickets, for floor seats in the Butte Civic Center at the annual Metcalf-Mansfield dinner, had previously sold out. The new tickets would be for stadium seating.

The Montana Democratic Party says it expects about 4,000 total to attend the event.

Clinton told the Montana Democratic Party she will attend, and it is believed Obama also will.

The visit will come two months before Montana’s June 3 primary.

Montana Democrats say it shows the state is surprisingly going to be a player in the Democratic nomination process.
