Police Blotter: Dog Shot and the “Cat Lady” is Back

The Kalispell Police and Flathead County Sheriff’s reports for Thursday included the following:

7:34 a.m. A dog running loose on Deer Trail in Whitefish was peppered with birdshot. The dog survived.

8:04 a.m. The barking dogs on Haywire Gulch were upsetting the neighbors.

8:39 a.m. A man called in because his gun was stolen.

8:47 a.m. A farmer called in because a vehicle had driven into their winter wheat field ant tore up what he estimated at more than $1,000 worth of wheat.

4:32 p.m. A woman called in requesting a deputy help her control her 16-year-old son who had just punched her. The disrespectful boy was arrested for assault.

5:07 p.m. Someone from Bison Drive called in because there were kids shooting air guns at their dog.

5:38 p.m. A call was made from Hungry Horse about what looked like a teenage male punching a teenage girl in the cab of an orange truck.

5:52 p.m. Someone called and reported two boys who were shooting blue jays.

7:11 p.m. Someone called from a hotel in Evergreen to complain that the “cat lady,” whoever that is, had returned to the establishment.

10:37 p.m. Someone accidentally lit a stump on fire when they were trying to burn the grass around it.

The departments responded to 170 calls for service.
