Police Blotter: Copper Thieves Caught and Annoying Transients

The Kalispell Police and Flathead County Sheriff’s reports for Thursday included the following:

11:12 a.m. A woman called in after her home-schooled, 15-year-old son shoved her during an argument over the answer to a question on a test.

1:36 p.m. A Fish Wildlife and Parks employee found a safe in the river by Teakettle Bridge.

3:24 p.m. A woman came home to find that someone had broke into her home, searched through her cupboards and left through her window. Nothing was missing.

4:04 p.m. A television, DVD player, clock, game console and two pillows were stolen from a residence in Marion.

3:33 p.m. Two men were arrested at a bar in Hungry Horse and charged with felony criminal mischief and theft after breaking into at least two electrical substations and stealing copper wire.

5:21 p.m. A thin bald man in his 20s exposed himself in a grocery store parking lot.

6:42 p.m. A Kalispell woman called in because a girl won’t stop calling her. Deputies asked her to stop calling.

6:55 p.m. Another Kalispell resident called in because a man and a woman keep calling them. Deputies asked them to stop calling.

7:51 p.m. A man stole things from a grocery store in Evergreen.

8:27 p.m. Someone from Evergreen called in and said that when he walks by the transient camp behind ShopKo the transients keep asking him for money. He’s tired of it.

The departments responded to 136 calls for service.
