Meadow Gold Dairy Plant in Kalispell to Close

By Beacon Staff

About 40 people will be out of a job in mid-June when the Meadow Gold dairy plant in Kalispell closes down.

The company says the plant is closing because it wasn’t making enough money to support itself.

With the closing, Kalispell production will shift to Great Falls and to Greeley, Colo.

Meadow Gold officials say the company is offering job transfer opportunities to as many employees as possible. They’re also planning to pay safety and quality bonuses to people who help close the plant, and to offer severance pay and benefits.

There are plans to help the displaced employees find new jobs, including a company-hosted job fair in the coming weeks.
