A fire chief says a Perkins restaurant near Kalispell is a total loss after a devestating fire; but the owner says he isn’t willing to write off the business just yet.
The fire early Friday caused extensive fire, smoke and water damage to the Perkins on U.S. Highway 2 in Evergreen. Firefighters from six area departments fought the blaze, arriving at about 3 a.m. and extinguishing it about two hours later.
Evergreen Fire Chief Craig Williams says the blaze started in the kitchen. He described the building as a total loss; but owner Craig Witte says reopening the restaurant will depend on what insurance adjusters say.
