Huckabee Stumps for Gubernatorial Candidate Roy Brown

By Beacon Staff

BILLINGS – Former Republican presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee is stumping for Montana gubernatorial candidate Roy Brown and touting their shared views on lower taxes and more domestic energy development.

Huckabee’s visit to Montana includes a pair of $100-a-plate fundraisers in Billings and Bozeman on Wednesday.

Speaking to a partisan crowd of more than 100 people in Billings, Huckabee said Brown and running mate Steve Daines promote the same conservative values that got him elected governor of Arkansas. He added Montana’s vast coal reserves means its governor can influence energy policies on a national scale.

Daines served as chair of Huckabee’s Montana campaign until Huckabee exited the presidential race in early March.
