Police Blotter: Missing in Paige and Elusive Duck

The Kalispell Police and Flathead County Sheriff’s reports for Tuesday included the following:

9:23 a.m. A man was asked to remove himself from private property near Helena Flats Road. He did leave upon request, but before doing so he said it was okay for him to be there because he was a private investigator.

10:53 a.m. A man reported finding a dead deer that had been buried by what he thought to be either a mountain lion or a bear.

11:34 a.m. A woman called in to say that her sister and brother-in-law have gone missing from Paige, Ariz. She was told to call Paige. She called back later to say her relatives had been found in Paige.

12:47 p.m. Someone on Angel Point Road called in to report a grass fire that is possibly burning underground.

5:01 p.m. A board with nails in it was removed from the Sportsman Bridge on U.S. Highway 82.

5:34 p.m. A woman called in to say that she found a duck with a broken leg. Her husband told her to put the duck in a box and take it to the “bird lady.” However, they were unable to catch the duck as it ran and flew away.

6:58 p.m. A woman called in to ask deputies to help keep her 18-year-old daughter out of her room and away from her car.

9:10 p.m. A tow truck driver called in to complain about his neighbor’s irritating dog.
