Family Forestry Expo

By Beacon Staff

The Family Forestry Expo’s Sunday afternoon FVCC logging sports demo competitions and logging machinery demonstrations are always a Mother’s Day staple, so I thought I’d take a few photos to share them with those who couldn’t make it.

Daniel Pickar caught in mid-swing during a logging sports demo.

A young fan of chainsaw carving gives a high-five after receiving a kid-sized chair made before his eyes.

Making cookies, logging sports style.

Slaving away during the springboard competition.

A three-shot series of another head-to-head competition where the competitors start with one hand on the end of the log, then pick up their saw, run up the length of the log, start their saws, cut off a cookie, turn off the saw, run back down the log and touch where they started.
