What’s the story with the purple potty? Its graced the entrances of several businesses around Bigfork, and continues to make the rounds. The cost for removal starts at $5. It’s part of the Glacier Bank’s Team fundraiser for Relay for Life.
Team leader Whitney Warren says it costs $5 for a business to get the toilet removed, and $10 to send it to another business.
“For another $5 you can pay to never see it again,” Warren says, “so most people are paying the $15!”
The purple throne started out at the Bigfork Eagle, went to Saddlehorn, the UPS Store, and will soon be sitting outside Denny’s Barber Shop. All the proceeds go towards Bigfork’s Relay for Life effort. This year the relay runs from July 18th through the 19th.
On Wednesday May 21st there’s a Kick Off party at 5 PM at Flathead Bank on the corner of Bridge Street and Highway 35. In addition to food, drinks, music and speakers, organizers are setting up booths for people to register relay teams and buy luminaries.
