KALISPELL – The National Wrestling Coaches Association has chosen Jeff Thompson of the Flathead Valley for the organization’s regional coach-of-the-year award.

Thompson recently announced he would step down as the wrestling coach at Flathead High School in Kalispell, after eight years at the helm. He said he wanted more time with his wife and four children.

The Flathead Braves won their third straight Class AA state championship in February. The championship is Flathead’s fourth in five years.
