Police Blotter: Vanishing Van and Man Fights Moving Vehicles

The Kalispell Police and Flathead County Sheriff’s reports for Wednesday included the following:

8:08 a.m. Two stray dogs were hauled off to the shelter after killing four plump chickens.

9:08 a.m. A hysterical Kalispell woman called in after her neighbor threatened to spray Roundup.

10:08 a.m. On Tuesday night an intoxicated man called in from the Blue Moon saloon to report a stolen vehicle. Responding deputies gave the man a ride home and later found his Dodge Caravan parked nearby on Half-Moon Road. The same drunken man called in a second time the next night to report that his vehicle had been stolen from the bar once again. And again, deputies found the vehicle parked a couple hundred yards down the road on U.S. Highway 2.

2:30 p.m. A woman called in from the Coram post office to report that her ex-husband, who she has a restraining order against, was standing next to her car.

6:44 p.m. An extremely intoxicated woman punched another woman at the mobile home park on Shady Lane.

8:40 p.m. A boy rode away on his blue and pink bicycle after he got into a fight with his girlfriend.

9:48 p.m. Someone called in from Hungry Horse to complain kids were standing in the parking lot smoking dope. Deputies found some adults who were not smoking dope. They were, however, asked to leave.

11:10 p.m. Someone called in to report that his car window had been shot out with a pellet gun as he was driving over the viaduct near Columbia Falls.

4:30 a.m. Deputies gave a transient a ride back to his camp after he was causing a bit of a disturbance at the mobile home park on Shady Lane. Later, however, the aggressive transient was arrested for disorderly conduct after attempting to punch moving vehicles.
