Obama Plans Return Visit to Montana This Week

By Beacon Staff

HELENA – Barack Obama is planning a stop in Montana as part of a swing through battleground states this week.

The campaign also unveiled another TV ad in Montana, its second since carrying the state in the June 3 Democratic primary.

Obama plans to spend all week in the run-up to the Fourth of July holiday focusing on American values. That includes visits to the traditional Republican strongholds of Montana and North Dakota.

The Obama campaign would not confirm details of the visit. The campaign has promised to challenge McCain in Montana — even though the state has consistently voted Republican in recent elections.

The Obama campaign says it believes it can turn the tide with a strong organization built up during the primary battle with Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton.
