Police Blotter: Neighborly Gestures and Man Asleep at the Wheel

7:07 a.m. Vandals broke the windows out of several vehicles near Arbour Drive.

7:49 a.m. Someone on Granite View Drive in Kalispell reported the theft of a wakeboard and $150.

8:37 a.m. Binoculars and a spare key were stolen from a vehicle in Kalispell.

11:38 a.m. Someone called in to report that a car keeps stopping in front of his or her house in the middle of the night. The caller was instructed to call back during the middle of the night.

11:54 a.m. Vagrants trashed a room at a local hotel.

11:56 a.m. Someone stole a Toshiba laptop from a vehicle parked at the Kootenai Creek pullout. There are no suspects.

3:12 p.m. A soon-to-be divorced couple had a verbal dispute over living arrangements: She wants him out and he wants to stay. One of the two had also removed all the doorknobs in the home.

3:36 p.m. A 31-year old woman called in to report that as a 4-year-old her father had neglected her.

4:02 p.m. Three flashlights and a Swiss army knife were stolen from a vehicle in Evergreen.

4:30 p.m. A man in Coram called in to report that his neighbors keep giving him “the bird.”

6:06 p.m. Someone called in with parenting questions.

6:10 p.m. A man and a woman were counseled after a disagreement concerning one of them moving out. Allegedly one called the other selfish, among other things.

6:27 p.m. The owner of a car that was kicked two days ago called in to report a dent.

6:45 p.m. A firecracker may have been the culprit behind a grass fire on Dawn Drive.

6:47 p.m. A fire that was burning above ground at the Ashley Lake day park and campground was now reportedly burning below ground, this according to the Department of Natural Resources.

6:58 p.m. A man and his dog were reportedly threatening another man.

7:06 p.m. A fawn was rescued from a basement window well by Fish and Game.

7:57 p.m. A man that was asked to leave a Bootjack Lake Road residence a week ago returned and was jailed on criminal trespassing charges.

8:51 p.m. Someone reported that two couples and several kids were drinking near the Foys Lake boat access. The caller also stated that they were groping each other. When authorities arrived a verbal warning was given to the group.

9:46 p.m. A man in Coram called in what he thought was an illegal slash burn. And rightly so, the fire was filling his house with smoke. But when deputies responded the fire turned out to be legal.

10:30 p.m. A 12-year-old child Lakeside refused to return home with his or her 14-year-old sister. The child’s mother is out of town.

11:40 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving after he was found passed out in the turn lane at the corner of Reserve Street and U.S. Highway 93.

The departments responded to 199 calls for service.
