Police Blotter: Officer Threat and Bear Spray Ruins Party

12:11 a.m. A 19-year-old man was arrested after he attempted to flee from an officer he threatened to harm with a bottle of alcohol.

1:48 a.m. A caller who had been drinking reported seeing a cougar at a Columbia Falls golf course.

1:58 a.m. The Whitefish fire department was dispatched to Big Mountain Road where someone had discharged bear spray at a party. Deputies told everyone to go to bed.

3:14 a.m. Two males and a female were reportedly shooting a gun into the air near Frontage Road in Columbia Falls. The reporting party said they either left by foot or in a red car.

9:48 a.m. Two dogs in Kalispell got into a scrap. One was bitten.

10:17 a.m. A 1995 BMW 740 with half a tank of gas was reported stolen on Birch Drive.

11:32 a.m. A girl called in to report that her mom wouldn’t give her pain pills.

11:35 a.m. A man on Cooperative Way in Kalispell wasn’t compliant with his ex-wife’s wish to take the kids. As a result he was shoved.

12:19 p.m. Someone in Columbia Falls called in to report the theft of a trolling motor.

3:21 p.m. A fifth wheel trailer on School Addition Road was paint balled.

3:55 p.m. Someone called in to report that jet skiers on the North Fork weren’t observing speed regulations. The caller reported the jet skis were traveling at speeds in excess of 50 mph.

4:30 p.m. Someone thought a person sleeping in a car was suspicious. The sleeper turned out to be the owner of the car.

6:32 p.m. A woman said she admittedly “flipped out” and started throwing things at her husband who she says beats her. The woman was arrested for obstruction.

7:18 p.m. A man who was sitting in a lawn chair behind a blue jeep at the Old Steal Bridge denied yelling at passersby.

8:12 p.m.. A man who was staggering into the road in Evergreen was confused and dehydrated. He was taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

8:21 p.m. A man in a 1969 convertible Cadillac El Dorado reportedly hit a road sign and then drove onto someone’s lawn.

9:16 p.m. A woman called into report that her boyfriend had beaten, kicked and dragged her by her ponytail. He denied it, claiming he had only pushed her out the door to avoid a physical disturbance.

9:20 p.m. Baby items and a phone were thrown out of a car at a Lakeside ice cream parlor.

10:27 p.m. There was report of a man walking back and forth by an Evergreen burger joint.

10:55 p.m. Shadows and a noise were reported on Cooperative Way.

11:30 p.m. Excessive use of fireworks had a man at his boiling point on Stoner Creek Road, The man told authorities that if dispatch wasn’t sent he’d take care of the problem himself.
The departments responded to 185 calls for service.
