BOZEMAN – Ralph Nader supporters canvassed in Bozeman this week, seeking signatures to get the consumer advocate back on the ballot for president.
And they expressed confidence they’ll succeed.
Kesa Bechard is Montana coordinator for Nader’s campaign. She says they’ve gathered nearly 10,000 signatures, twice the number needed for third-party presidential candidates to appear on the Montana ballot.
Some liberals across the country are unhappy that Nader decided to run again this year.
In 2000, Nader took 2.4 percent of the vote nationally. According to some voters’ logic, those votes would have gone to Democratic presidential candidate Al Gore and would have been enough to give Gore the presidency.
