Police Blotter: Young Runaway and Camper Fire

5:01 a.m. A Flathead County sheriff’s cruiser was damaged when the driver struck a tire on U.S. Highway 93 while responding to a call. No one was injured and the damage was minimal.

8:25 a.m. A young girl, who appeared to be about 10 years old, ran away from home. She was found walking with her suitcase on Foot Hill Road near Echo Lake. She was returned home.

9:20 a.m. A riding lawnmower was stolen from Scenic Ridge Drive.

9:50 a.m. A Bigfork woman reported the theft of her methadone pills as well as another unspecified narcotic from a pill jar where she keeps all her drugs.

11:28 a.m. A gray Toyota Corolla was stolen from the old Tidyman’s parking lot. There is a sticker on the back window.

12:22 p.m. A vendor near a sports store in Evergreen reported a bad check. The vendor, though, doesn’t know what the person who wrote the check looks like.

12:53 p.m. $250 came up missing from a home on Bernard Drive in Kalispell.

1:13 p.m. Two young men were reportedly selling magazine subscriptions. They were asking for half the money upfront. The caller thought it might be a scam.

4:38 p.m. A fire was reported at Graves Creek Campground.

5:28 p.m. A person who confronted the driver of a bronze Chevy that was losing trash near the dump was almost assaulted

7:59 p.m. A fire was reported near Kila.

9:01 p.m. A woman was “lit up” because someone came to her home asking for money.

9:15 p.m. Three to four howling hound dogs were reported in Olney. The owner put the bark collars back on.

9:55 p.m. A truck, or maybe a car, keeps circling near a home on Bells Lane in Kalispell.

11:33 p.m. A man threatened to wallop a woman with a golf club.

2:15 a.m. A camper caught fire. One of the owners was arrested while driving away from the scene for possessing drug paraphernalia. A neighbor extinguished the blaze with a garden hose.

The departments responded to 151 calls for service.
