Police Blotter: Charging Bat and Potty Mouth

6:23 a.m. A stallion was running free on Two Mile Drive.

8:12 a.m. The animal warden caught a cat in trap on Rocky Meadows Drive. It turned out to be feral cat that had been running amok in the area.

9:38 a.m. Someone sprayed graffiti on the post office in Lakeside.

10:41 a.m. A black bear was seen near the waterslides in Columbia Falls.

12:02 p.m. A woman who was fired from an Evergreen restaurant went back to say goodbye. She had several four-letter words for her former employer.

1:08 p.m. Teens were reportedly playing with explosives on Two Mile Drive near a big blue house.

2:08 p.m. A charging bat forced a woman to lock herself in her bedroom and call authorities to her Many Lakes Drive home. The animal warden could not locate the bat.

4:22 p.m. Someone’s identification was stolen from a Somers bar.

4:22 p.m. Illegal campers near Start Meadows were turned over to the Forest Service.

4:24 p.m. A drunken transient was taken to jail from an Evergreen retailer on an outstanding warrant.

6:19 p.m. Someone, who said they worked for MySpace.com, called in to report that they received an e-mail about a possible crime.

8:28 p.m. A modular home was blocking traffic on Highway 2.

8:32 p.m. A bullet that had gone through a screen window was reportedly found in a caller’s home.

8:54 p.m. Tires were slashed in Marion.

9:16 p.m. Extra patrol was requested because a man was selling magazine subscriptions.

9:30 p.m. Things got a little physical on Pleasant Valley Drive between a couple who had been drinking.

10:16 p.m. A man reportedly: stopped his vehicle; got out; picked something up; got back in; then drove away.

The departments responded to 214 calls for service.
