Police Blotter: Phone Scam and Neighbor Wars

5:18 a.m. On Slopeside Drive in Whitefish someone reported hearing a knocking sound. It was a heating unit turning off and on.

5:25 a.m. Two horses and a mule were on the loose near Flathead Drive.

10:26 a.m. A person claiming to be from Search and Rescue Industries was thought to be a con-artist, according to a woman in Kalispell who got a call asking for donations. The phone number and the address she was given turned out to be bogus.

12:36 p.m. A girl got a call from someone who said he was the boy who died over a year ago. The boy said he thought he and the girl should date. She thought he was a creep.

1:04 p.m. A young male was hopping in and out of traffic.

1:09 p.m. A 6-year-old and a 9-year-old in Martin City were squabbling.

10:35 p.m. $232 was reported stolen from a Tally Lake lock box.

The departments responded to 196 calls for service.
