Police Blotter: Bag of Bones and Bloodied Transient

8:46 a.m. Someone in Polebridge is missing a fishing pole.

9:35 a.m. Two construction workers had a disagreement at a Vonderheide Lane home in Kalispell.

12:08 p.m. Medication and a digital camera were stolen from a Sweebe Lane home in Columbia Falls.

12:14 p.m. A colt that was tangled in a fence got out safely.

12:57 p.m. Someone is missing a couple thousand bucks.

1:03 p.m. A black garbage bag was found at Murray Lake. The person who found the bag said it was full of bones. She never looked in the bag, but said, “she could feel them in there.”

1:35 p.m. Two drowned puppies were found beneath the New Steel Bridge.

3:33 p.m. A woman in Columbia Falls left her home after a gun went off. Initially, it was thought that she had been shot in the arm. She wasn’t.

8:17 p.m. There was report of a vicious pit bull in Evergreen. It was trapped in a backyard.

9:47 p.m. A disgruntled transient went to reclaim $10 from a 50-year-old man living in a fifth-wheel and ended up with stitches in his head and chest. The 33-year-old transient went to the fifth wheel twice. During the first encounter he accused the older man of stealing $10 and then head-butted him. The second time he allegedly forced the door of the fifth-wheel open, but when he did, he was met by the older man now wielding a knife. The bloodied transient faces aggravated assault, burglary and criminal trespass charges. The incident is still under investigation.

The departments responded to 135 calls for service.
