Police Blotter: Fighting Neighbors and Stolen Vampire Costume

7:02 a.m. Two neighbors on Parker Road in Columbia Falls continually pester each other. On Thursday, one neighbor allowed a hunter on to their property. The hunter, though, crossed the property line, starting the day’s bickering, The second neighbor subsequently fell a tree and left it across the property line.

10:21 a.m. Advice was given to a parent who was slapped by their child.

12:10 p.m. A tailgate was stolen.

1:54 p.m. An antique keg was stolen from behind a garage.

2:28 p.m. A 22-year-old man was arrested after he stole a Halloween costume from an Evergreen box store. He claimed the “vampire vixen” costume was for his girlfriend. Either way, it cost $40.

3:38 p.m. A kid at a Woodland Drive home got mace in their eyes.

4:33 p.m. Two “falling-down drunk” transients were told to stay off the highway on their way to the soup kitchen.

5:10 p.m. Someone is ticked off. Their neighbor leaves their truck running but it doesn’t have a muffler or tail pipe. It’s loud.

6:18 p.m. Someone driving a recycling truck asked a kid to hop in.

6:36 p.m. A 5-year-old that had gone missing in Hungry Horse was found a couple blocks from the downtown tavern.

7:12 p.m. The same drunken transients hadn’t made it to the soup kitchen yet.

7:45 p.m. Pink body spray was stolen from a store in Evergreen.

The departments responded to 158 calls for service.
