Police Blotter: Abandoned Rats and Horses Killed

8:31 a.m. A Trumble Creek Road man found two of his horses dead. He thinks a mountain lion is responsible.

10:28 a.m. Four black bears were in a yard near a state park in Whitefish.

1:36 p.m. Eight Democratic political signs were stolen on Clark Drive in Kalispell.

1:39 p.m. More Democratic political signs were stolen.

3:44 p.m. A man was walking toward a gravel pit in Lakeside. He looked suspicious. He was wearing blue jeans and glasses.

4:04 p.m. The same belligerent man was seen staggering down Stoner Creek Road.

4:29 p.m. Apparently, a man was trashing his own car near the Hungry Horse Reservoir.

5:57 p.m. Two domesticated black-and-white rats were left in a shoe box behind the dumpsters in Kila.

6:40 p.m. A vehicle that was donated to a local rural fire department was reported stolen. It had no engine or working transmission; it must have been towed.

7:44 p.m. A woman, who was fishing, said someone in a light blue Toyota tried to run down her father, her kids and herself, on a bridge in Evergreen. She didn’t know what bridge she was on.

.11:04 p.m. An intoxicated woman was worried her ex would show up at her Bernard Road home in Evergreen.

2:07 a.m. The man showed up. He was arrested for a probation violation.

The departments responded to 158 calls for service.
