Two Found Dead in House After Standoff

By Beacon Staff

POLSON – Lake County officials found a man and a woman dead in an Arlee residence after a weekend standoff.

Their names and cause of death haven’t been released.

Sheriff Lucky Larson says law enforcement officers were called to a house north of Arlee around 6:15 p.m. Saturday after callers reported a man was going to kill himself.

Officers heard gunshots fired in their direction at one point and an officer with the Flathead Tribal Police was struck in his protective vest. He was treated at a hospital and released.

At 2:40 a.m. Sunday, officers entered the residence and found the man and woman dead. Their bodies were taken to the state crime lab in Missoula.

Larson says the state Division of Criminal Investigations was called to investigate the case.
