MISSOULA – Authorities have released the names of a man and woman who were found dead in an Arlee home after a standoff over the weekend.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Department says Dusty Reed, 36, and Janeal Morris, 48, were found dead Sunday morning. The cause of their deaths has not been released.

The standoff started just after 6 p.m. Saturday when the sheriff’s department received reports that a man was going to kill himself.

Responding officers say they heard gunshots fired in their direction coming from a camper trailer about 200 yards away. A Flathead Tribal Police officer was struck in his protective vest, and glass from a shattered window hit a civilian. Neither was seriously injured.

Officers entered the residence at 2:40 a.m. Sunday and found the man and woman dead. Their bodies were taken to the state crime lab in Missoula.
