Holiday: Infant Shot, No Recount Changes, Santa School

By Beacon Staff

Good morning and happy birthday to the late, great Charles Schulz.

On the Beacon this morning, Flathead County Commissioner Joe Brenneman is pushing a bill in the Legislature to allow unincorporated communities like Evergreen and Bigfork to form villages. Authorities are investigating a 1-year-old shot in the face near Somers yesterday. A recount in the Kalispell House District 8 race confirmed Democrat Cheryl Steenson prevailed over incumbent Republican Craig Witte by 14 votes. The Alpine Theatre Project’s kids program has had an overwhelmingly response to audition for the “Jungle Book.” At a recent forum to discuss legal services for low income Montanans, lawyers and judges discussed the gap between access to the courts and access to justice.

Many ranchers in the Helena area are struggling with wolves preying on their heifers. Elk hunting season has been extended in some regions. And ski resorts in the region are not worried about the recession affecting business, as long as it snows.

And finally, check out this Korean school for training aspiring workers to act like Santa Claus. The video is hilarious. Have a great day.
