“Tire Thumper” and Trapped in Elevator

3:30 a.m. Two overdue hunters were located in Missoula County.

6:53 a.m. A pit bull received a blood transfusion.

8:00 a.m. A woman threw something at a man.

8:33 a.m. Five dogs were taken to the animal shelter. Their owner recently passed away.

9:39 a.m. Two small horses on Bear Street in Coram were in fine health.

10:39 a.m. Someone in the Polebridge area stole a propane tank.

11:02 a.m. The animal warden went by a home on Flathead Drive and picked up a dog. It had been evicted.

11:15 a.m. The father of a reporting party’s daughter was being a verbally abusive.

11:17 a.m. A 21-year-old man, who was selling firewood in the parking lot of an Evergreen retailer, was arrested after he assaulted two male acquaintances. The culprit allegedly struck one man with a wooden bat, which he called a “tire thumper,” and then got into a vehicle and struck the other man.

12:27 p.m. The window of an ambulance was smashed with a rock.

2:04 p.m. Transients may be trespassing.

2:17 p.m. It’s not certain if an ax is missing.

2:36 p.m. The death of a loved one has family members acting childish.

3:51 p.m. A blue Chevrolet van was parked in a suspicious manner.

4:18 p.m. Someone thought they found their stolen pontoon boat. They were wrong.

4:23 p.m. A young man said someone was following him. It turned out to be his friends.

4:56 p.m. Someone has been stealing gas on Ash Road.

5:43 p.m. The Evergreen Fire Department rescued a person who was trapped for 31 minutes in an elevator on East Oregon Street.

9:00 p.m. A Christmas wreath was stolen in Kalispell.

11:57 p.m. Someone was abusing a rental car in Lakeside.

The departments responded to 164 calls for service.
