Trial Underway in Libby Campground Shooting

By Beacon Staff

A trial is under way in Libby for a 19-year-old Kalispell woman charged with shooting a man to death at a Lincoln County campground in July.

Heather Henson is charged with deliberate homicide in the death of 67-year-old Larry Kingsley, who was shot 16 times.

Henson’s boyfriend, 17-year-old Stephen Thomas, is also charged with murder.

Court records say Henson told investigators that Kingsley gave her $2,300 and when she lost it, he implied she would have to pay it back with sex.

Henson and Thomas agreed to go to Kingsley’s campsite near Libby. Henson told investigators Kingsley was shot after he allegedly held a knife to Thomas’ neck and threatened to kill her.
