Rehberg Announces Intentions to Go to Football Game

By Beacon Staff

Everyday my e-mail inbox gets flooded with press releases of all different varieties, from sports to politics to community events. Some are useful and others are quickly discarded. But every once in awhile, I get one that compels me to giggle and share with my co-workers. Here’s today’s breaking news: Denny Rehberg, our state’s lone Congressman, has announced that he will attend tonight’s Montana Grizzlies playoff football game. Rehberg had this little tidbit to pass along to reporters: “Go Griz!”

Here’s an excerpt from the 170-word press release entitled “Rehberg Headed to Virginia for Grizzly Football Playoff Game.”

Rehberg, who was in Washington, D.C. for votes regarding the auto bailout, extended his stay in order to attend the game in Harrisonburg, VA.

“I always tell my East Coast colleagues that you have to experience Montana to understand it. While the President-elect and some members of Congress are talking about bringing playoffs to college football, Montanans know that real college football already has a playoff system,” said Rehberg. “Go Griz!”

Enjoy yourself, Rep. Rehberg. Wish I was there too.
